Kwajalein Atoll

Yes, this is a picture of part of Kwajalein Island, our future home.  Our sponsor sent this to us today when Dad mentioned that we are working to stay warm at -35 degrees Fahrenheit.  A friend of mine recently pointed out to me that in one month of the rainy season on Kwaj they get more rain than Delta Junction does in one year.  Wow!  This is just one of the many differences that we will have to adjust to.

As we are preparing to move there are days where we all look at each other and say, “We are moving to a tropical island, this is amazing and will be so much fun!!”  Other days we look at each other and say, “We are moving to a tropical island, what are we thinking, this is crazy!”  Overall though, we are very, very excited about moving.  The little guys love to tell people what they have learned about the island.  The part they are most excited to see is the turtle pond.  Coconut crabs are also a hot topic in the house.  (Also known as robber crabs.  Look them up, they’re huge!)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJV)  This move is a big leap of faith for all of us.  On the days where we say, “This is crazy!” I hold onto this promise:  God is leading us to Kwaj, and He will work everything out for our good.  No matter what we feel like, He is in control, and is asking us to trust Him.  We have agreed to trust Him and follow His lead, no matter what.  We do not know what He has for us there, but we are excited to find out.  Knowing that He knows what He is doing, even when we do not, makes this an adventure.  God did not promise us our lives would be easy, but He did promise to give us LIFE.  (John 10:10)  We are entering into this season of our lives, looking forward to the life that He plans to give us.
